From Morondava we flew to Antanararivo(Tana), spent the night and then the next morning flew to Johannesburg and then to Cape Town.
We had no trouble with luggage weight other than the amazed look on the clerks face when he weighed Tibor’s carry on bag- it was probably twice the weight usually allowed but no comment was made and we had no trouble with the flight to Tana.
When we arrived at Tana we went to a store to get vanilla and another store to get chocolate before we went to our hotel. It was a surprise to see how much traffic there was in Tana after all the driving we’ve done with hardly anyone around.
We had a nice, but expensive, dinner at the hotel and then the next morning we headed back to the Tana airport for our flight to Johannesburg. Our flight to Johannesburg was delayed because there was so much rain/weather in Johannesburg. This was a bit stressful as both Tibor and I had connecting flights to Cape Town.
No worries, Tibor’s flight to Cape Town was delayed a bit so he had no trouble getting on his flight. I had enough time to make my flight too as it was later than Tibor’s.
Picked up the rental car and got to our Cape Town room about midnight and had to wake up the poor proprietor to let us in.
